All lettuces are finished and gone. The strawberries have been delicious, albeit sparse. The canteloupe that almost died is by far the tallest vine on the trellis and has 5 or 6 budding melons on the vine.
I cut the basil back and hung 6 large bunches to dry. We'll wait and see how well it comes back.
Beefsteak tomatoes starting to put on. |
The San Marzano tomatoes have a couple bunches progressing along nicely.
The Black Crim tomatoes are looking good, so far. This is the biggest of the 6 tomatoes on the plant.
The peppers outside are doing extremely poorly in comparison to the ones in the greenhouse. The plants are roughly half the size and are bearing fewer and smaller peppers.
The peppers in the greenhouse, however, are doing excellent. They have so many peppers on them they are getting deformed due to pressing against each other as well as the plant stems. One banana pepper is beginning to ripen.
This is one of the three wild flower plants that Angel planted at the Bamberg Gartenmesse. They were dying in her pot, so I put them in the garden to try to revive them. They look better than I thought they would. I guess I'm growing a green thumb after all.
